POWERtalk International ...
Is a non-profit organization founded in 1938 and is now operating in 21
countries. Members include doctors, lawyers, engineers, accountants, teachers, students, IT
consultants, architects, politicians, builders, electricians, taxi
drivers, taxidermists and even professional speakers. Our slogan is: Coaching in effective
speaking.
The POWERtalk Howick Club meeting programme includes standard coaching in effective speaking, speech contests and all sorts of communication training related short courses and workshops. Are you afraid of public speaking? Here you can learn the art
of public speaking in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our Howick Club is open to
everybody. Please join us to develop your communication skills and confidence.
Guests are always
welcome at our club - There is no charge for visitors and they will not be
pressed to speak unless they really wish to. No booking required - Just
turn up and join us.
Whatever your
'station' is in life, good communication skills are
essential.

> Summary:
This is going to be an exciting year for the club with new members to be nurtured and introduced to the Powertalk organisation.
The continuing members will be called upon to share their Powertalk knowledge through mentoring and leadership roles and I hope that with sharing with the new members this will give them fresh enthusiasm for this wonderful organisation.
I am excited about the coming year and what we are all going to achieve as we grow and it would be fantastic if at 75% of the members could attend conference in May 2012 in Hamilton to support Barbara and her Board and share in the education and fellowship that conference generates.
I pondered on a theme for the year and stole some words from past international presidents, put them together to generate a goal of where I would like Powertalk Howick to head.
